Golden Circle with Mountaineers of Iceland
16th of April 2018 was almost the end of my Icelandic trip of a week in the South West of the island. That day, I had the chance to venture out to some of the most touristic sights in Iceland: the Golden Circle (Gullni hringurinn). This geographical concentration of landmarks includes the National Park of Pingvellir, the Gullfoss Waterfall and the Geysir Valley which I write about in more detail later in this article.
Tomato lunch
When you think about Iceland in winter yourarely think about tomatoes. Let’s be honest here for a second.
Well, Knútur Rafn Ármann and his wife Helena Hermundardóttir decided to show us all how wrong we were by opening Friðheimar. There, they grow tomatoes all year long with the help of geothermal energy. Friðheimar wants to offer an environmentally and socially responsible service to its guests and it’s in their sustainable green house that we were welcomed for a delicious lunch.
Hitchhiking in Iceland
Hitchhiking in Iceland: unpredictable adventures ahead. When my friend and I decided to go on a road trip in Iceland for my birthday, it was important for us to plan the journey in advance, as we were going to explore a part of the island without a car.
Southcoast trip with Your Day Tours
In 2015, three Icelandic brothers and their father started ‘ YOUR DAY TOURS‘, a happiness and simplicity based company bringing people together in order to visit the South of Iceland and leave with a big smile on their faces.
Traveling is important for me because of the stories I’m able to bring home afterwards. Therefore it’s crucial to find the company carrying proudly their own and which is able to share it with us.
